We are looking for a talented, detail-oriented project lead that brings a collaborative and complementary skillset to our team, along with an eagerness to learn, grow, and mentor our junior team members. Our ideal candidate brings demonstrated medical device development and project management expertise along with a customer-first, listen-first, and team-first attitude. Our personal relationships with our clients, focused on trust and openness, are just as important as the technical products and services we generate!

You will be responsible for:

  • Leading client programs, which may include:
    • Developing requirements (e.g., draft, review, and discuss with stakeholders)
    • Identifying, building relationships with, and managing third-party suppliers.
    • Leading safety risk management efforts (e.g., planning, performing risk assessments)
    • Authoring and executing verification and validation efforts (e.g., plans, protocols, and reports)
    • Managing and reporting on budget and schedules (internal and client)
    • Developing tasks / work breakdown structures.
    • Leading internal and external team members to achieve defined program milestones.
    • Communicating project status and risks to clients.
  • Identifying new workstreams / areas of support for your current client projects.
  • Leading portions of CMD’s sales, marketing, and operations activities.
  • Demonstrating CMD’s core values internally and to our clients.
  • Following and improving CMD’s operations processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or science.
  • Seven (7) or more years of experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or life science development.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in a project leadership role, inclusive of:
    • Coordinating and building relationships with 3rd party vendors
    • Managing project teams, schedules, and budgets
    • Test planning and protocol development
  • Experience with biocompatibility and chemical compatibility, including working knowledge of the ISO 10993 series, program planning, and risk management.
  • Experience with combination products (drug / device, biologic /device) preferred.
  • This position offers a combination of in-person and work from home opportunities. Candidates must live in the Columbus, Ohio area. Travel requirements for all staff are project-dependent but are generally less than 25%.
